LDEI South Florida Chapter

January 1, 2017, was the day that Les Dames South Florida’ founders announced that we were forming a new LDEI South Florida chapter. Our intention was to have members in South Florida from Palm Beach to Key West. By the end of January 2017, in only one month, we miraculously had recruited the required 15 charter members to found our new chapter! All membership applications were in and dues were paid in time for our new chapter to be ratified at an LDEI Board Meeting in February 2017. We held our inaugural chapter meeting in March 2017, and in April then LDEI President Stacy Zeigler, Atlanta chapter, and Ann Stratte, then LDEI Secretary, Washington, DC chapter, flew in to Palm Beach to welcome our new chapter to the LDEI organization. To celebrate the occasion, we hosted a classic British afternoon tea at the Chesterfield Hotel in Palm Beach. We are currently the only active LDEI chapter in the state of Florida. Our chapter is thriving with 37 members in a wide range of culinary and hospitality careers. Our membership now includes an area from our northernmost Dames in Orlando, to Fort Myers on Florida’s southwest coast, and on the southeast coast in Stuart, Palm Beach, Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale and Miami, down to the Florida Keys.
